Reduce burning speed nero

I will try out the omnipatcher. I had assumed it was the burner, as DiscJuggler also limits the burn speed to 4x or above. Still seems a bit weird that there is no option to burn at a slower speed. I have always assumed that burning at the maximum branded speed for any given media was not the best idea if you wanted to limit errors. I only use verbatim 16x burned at 8x bit set at booktype DVD-Rom so they paly in any dvd player.

If you search you can find many post on this problem with DL"s What brand do you use? You must log in or sign up to reply here. Show Ignored Content. Share This Page Tweet. If the bumps have shallow edges rather than nice sharp, crisp edges, the CD player extracts a very jittery signal with ambiguous timing references.

Depending on how well designed the player is, a jittery output can often throw the rest of the data decoding system into a state of unreliability, leading to a higher error rate and thus a greater number of uncorrected errors.

It is generally acknowledged as good practice to burn audio CDs at speeds no higher than 4x, but it is also important that you use good-quality blank media specifically designed for low-speed burning.

Most computer media these days is designed for very high-speed burning, usually over 24x. Such discs may not give reliable results when burned at low speeds.

So, matching media and burning speed is critical. Burning DVD with Nero, goes very slow? Now I know it's not going to burn at 16x really, but it should be a lot faster then 1x. Usually when I burn I don't have any programs going besides Folding, and I tried stopping Folding and any other programs, and last night it starting to burn at 16x, but then went down to 1x - 3x after 5 seconds Updated the firmware for the drive yet?
