Remington a5 serial numbers
Nice find again Tim. What is this, like the 20th gun you've acquired this year? Reminds me of myself in the late 70s early 80s when I was younger and had more money to spend! Aug 18, 4. Nice Tim, I have one very similar to that. Nicknamed "thumper" Mine does not have the polychoke nor the buttpad. The fore end was split into three pieces and most of the blue was rubbed off. I fixed the front stock and had it refinished, so it would be considered a low cost example of a very nice firearm.
It has thumped its share bunny and pheasant and a couple deer to boot. Who knows what adventures it went one before it came into my possession. Aug 18, 5. FOD: actually a bit more then 20; here's the list of guns this year: Colombian Madsen. Aug 18, 6. I dig that humpback. It is referred to as an "American Browning". Hope this helps. A would have been made in the fall of It sounds like this semi-automatic shotgun has quite an interesting history!
Thanks Again, John. I wrote Remington with a partial serial number, 5 digits, found on the loading lever. They said the serial number was on the left side of the receiver.
I had the 12 ga. The only writing I can find on the gun is on the top of the barrel made by Remington under Browning patents, and it lists the patent numbers. There was no serial number on the left side of the receiver. Only partial numbers on the loading lever are: 5C blank-rubbed out SL.
Can anyone give me any information about this shotgun? Information confirming the manufacturing coding used by Remington can be found online. Decoder is based on following information: Remington Year of Manufacture Codes maybe found on the barrel of your Remington rifle [or shotgun] on the left side, just forward of the receiver; the first letter of the Code is the month of manufacture, followed by one or two letters which are the year of manufacture.
For shotguns with removeable barrels, the code will be valid for the manufacture of the barrel; maybe for the receiver, as barrels do get switched around. As maybe seen, the year code letters duplicate; some knowledge of when the model was introduced should resolve the actual year of manufacture.
I have contacted Remington and they confirmed that information above is correct. About Remington Shotgun Guide. Best Upgrades for Remington Only 1, of these were produced in a high-grade wood. Production of the famous "A-5" ceased after this final tribute. To find your serial number, you will need to refer to your owner's manual. We have most owner's manuals online.
