Volvo xc90 handbrake adjustment pdf

Post by SwedeStyle » Sun Aug 12, pm. Post by matthew1 » Sun Aug 12, pm. Help keep MVS running. Adjusting the ebrake on my XC90 - How to? Recognized for its safety, practicality, and comfort, the XC90 is a popular vehicle around the world.

The XC90 proved to be very popular, and very good for Volvo's sales numbers, since its introduction in model year North America.

I have seen all sorts of posts for this and they are cryptic at best including the stinkin diagram from VADIS. Here is what I know- remove the lower panel to access the cable asembly. I have seen the diagram from VADIS that says to press out the cable adjustment but there is nothing to press out!!

Best I can guess is to turn it clockwise so the threaded rod gets shorter. I am not an idiot and am highly mechanically inclined but this thing eludes me and I am getting frustrated!! I recently replaced the ebrake shoes and need to adjust this stinkin thing so I can park on the hill in my driveway without having to put stress on my tranny.

Or adjust it myself. Or even get to it with my limited home selection of tools. Damn and b ks. Going to have to take it in to the dealer to have the f king handbrake adjusted!! If operate the handbrake first, you will find that the handbrake will only work if you pull the lever all the way up well past the MOT "five clicks".

My brother and I found out the hard way, I'd read the instructions but failed to inform my brother, I heard the handbrake clicks and went nooooooooo!!. The only solution was to take the brakes off again and wind the piston back in. Sounds like it could possibly be a similar problem. Edited by jhfozzy on Friday 17th July Foot pedal goes all the way down and barely bites. The new shoes, although new, must be thinner than the old ones. I was afraid I wouldn't get the new discs on slipping over new shoes without adjusting, but they went straight on.

The adjuster is a pain to get to, especially without the required tool! I hate little s t jobs like this, that normally are a piece of piss. I thought I'd done a great job, swapping discs, pads and shoes. Took no time.
