Dual degree program in law and psychology


















This program offers advanced skills and expertise to prepare students for leadership roles in the global economy. The School of Law and the Department of Information Science offer a collaborative program in legal information management and analysis that leads to both a J. Students trained in the dual-degree program learn a practical model of law librarianship.

The School of Law and the School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences have designed a seven-year course of study that allows students to accelerate their studies to receive the J.

This combination provides the scientific and legal training to excel in careers in biotechnology, intellectual property and the pharmaceutical industry. This collaborative four-year program fosters the critical interrelationship between the delivery of health care services, the protection of public health and the legal system.

You will be prepared to deal with the complexities of our current legal and health care systems, and to appreciate the expanding sources of conflict between individual and broader community-based health care needs and interests. The School of Law and the School of Architecture and Planning have designed a four-year dual degree that leads to both a J.

Students completing this program are uniquely prepared for administration and public lawyering. Students interesting in pursuing a Ph. Through the Baldy Center for Law and Social Policy and the interdisciplinary tradition at the School of Law, students have the ability to combine any graduate degree program that the University offers with their J.

Graduates will possess a broader understanding of social problems than those trained solely in law or behavioral sciences, enabling them to analyze existing policy and potential changes from a psycholegal perspective. Professor DeMatteo's research interests include psychopathic personality, forensic mental health assessment, offender diversion and drug-involved criminal offenders.

His research has been funded by several federal agencies, state agencies and private foundations, including the National Institute on Drug Abuse, Pennsylvania Department of Health, Pennsylvania Commission on Crime and Delinquency and the American Psychology-Law Society. Does it matter which deadline I choose? Arizona Law offers admission on a rolling basis; therefore, earlier application submission is preferred. The MBA Program offers multiple deadlines each year.

If you are interested in the three-year track, we recommend submitting your application to each school as soon as possible. Can I apply as a current 2L? Because the condensed curricular structure and timeline of the three-year track requires students to spend the entire second year of study taking business courses at Eller, current 2L students are not be able to complete the dual degree program within the three-year timeline.

How can I arrange a visit to the two schools? Can I attend a class? Can I correspond with current students of the two schools? What other activities can be arranged during my visit? You are able to visit classes, speak to students, tour our facilities, and interview. Are law and business classes held in the same building or, if not, are the buildings in close proximity?

The law and business buildings are adjacent, within a minute walking distance of each other. Will I be able to take the courses that are typically covered on bar exams? The exact courses you are able to take, however, will depend on each semester's schedule of classes. Will I be eligible for honors? As I near completion of the program, can I pursue jobs in both business and law? You will have both a law and a business degree. However, to practice law you will also need to take and pass the bar examination of the jurisdiction in which you plan to practice law.

What assistance will I receive in finding a job? A job in the legal profession? A job in the business sector? The career services offices of each school offer a full range of job search services. Furthermore, student groups actively network with alumni and potential employers, and both schools host multiple on-campus recruiting events.
