Foreign engine shop manual
Vehicles with turbochargers or superchargers may need a tune for reliability and maximum performance but will usually run with the OEM map.
We import our low mileage used engines, transmissions, and JDM parts directly from our trusted suppliers in Japan. While true JDM imports are more expensive than buying from other countries, they are almost always lower mileage and higher quality. We value quality over quantity, and only do business with suppliers who provide high quality, tested engines and transmissions.
When a direct replacement from Japan is unavailable for your car, we may be able to source a low mileage alternative from one of our US market suppliers. These engines and transmissions tend to have closer to 60,, miles on average but are still covered by our industry leading 1 year warranty. All our engines are compression tested and steam cleaned in Japan before being loaded for shipping.
When unloading the engines and transmissions from the container, we run through a checklist to verify their quality and check for damage before adding them to our inventory. We recommend replacing these maintenance items when installing an engine. While all of these items can be purchased online or through a dealer or auto parts store, we offer a full kit for your convenience.
Our inventory is always changing with availability, so please call us or check our website for the most up to date list. Of course, this always depends on the shop doing the rebuild, but finding a reputable shop can be difficult. Many rebuilders have very low standards for rebuilds because it is cheaper for them to sell a lot of engines instead of focusing on quality of the products they sell. Unfortunately, this passes a very high cost on to the consumer if a faulty engine or transmission needs to be replaced because their warranty rarely covers labor.
This means that you as the customer are stuck with a bill for hundreds of dollars more in labor charges. Instead, we sell high quality JDM imported engines and transmissions covered by the best warranty in the business. We even offer an optional labor warranty just in case one of our engines fails within our one-year guarantee.
We recommend calling our sales staff to see which engine or transmission will fit your vehicle. A US market model can have one of many different engines or transmissions, even in the same year of production.
We maintain a comprehensive interchange to ensure that you get the correct engine for your vehicle every time. Ford Motor Company produces factory service manuals through Helm, Inc.
Ford stopped producing paper versios of its factory service manuals in Jaguar for example, does not sell Factory Service Manuals to the general public. The only way to buy Jaguar factory repair information for newer Jaguars is through the eAutoRepair Online Subscription we sell on our website. Jaguar may have it own subscription available, but we are not aware of it. Now, much of the factory information is only available as an eAutorepair subscription, or as a subscription from the manufacturer.
The only exception to this rule of not publishing factory repair manuals is Mercedes-Benz. The amount of repair information required to repair modern vehicles as skyrocketed in recent years. Factory manuals also make a great gift for the car or truck enthusiast, collector or restorer. An OEM service manual provides the opportunity to take a deeper dive into the inner working of a vehicle to increase your understanding and appreciation of its many parts, components and systems.
For example, you'll find GM service manuals, Ford factory service manuals and Chevrolet sales brochures. We carry OEM car manuals, truck manuals and van manuals for all different model years. Factory Service Manuals are issued by vehicle manufacturers and are intended for their dealers' service departments. Therefore, a certain degree of experience and knowledge is expected since they are intended for professional mechanics.
Aftermarket repair manuals such as Chilton and Haynes, on the other hand, are written for the do-it-yourselfer. As with everything else, there are exceptions to this rule, but the great majority of service manuals listed here such as the GM manuals, were written for pro mechanics.
These factory repair manuals include detailed specifications and clear, useful illustrations on everything from the suspension system and brakes to engines and transmissions. Also worth noting is that in some instances, a factory manual may call for a specific tool.
When it does, it will refer to the manufacturer's part number. But whether you call it a factory repair manual, a manufacturer's service guide, or an O.
