Windows 7 built in burner
Report Id: I have NO other burning software installed. The ISO burn program gives the following message after it makes a coaster: The disc image didn't burn successfully because an error occurred.
Error code: 0x I have uninstalled the drive in device manager and rebooted and Windows reinstalled it with no problems. A burn attempt after this still fails. Please help! Pretend I binged for it instead, if you rather. W7 explodes and won't write the ISO at all. Vista writes it, ejects, and then promptly pronounces the media unreadable upon re-insertion.
It's not the ISO writing software. I even tried InfraRecorder's 'raw' option. Interestingly, doing that removed the cd errors in the system log, but the result was still garbage.
I'm an MSDN subscriber and a few months ago I burned this same image it was still on my hdd-- I did not re-download it and successfully used the dvd. Granted, this isn't apples-to-apples because it was a dvd and Ubuntu is a cd. The cds are coasters, and this dvd was somehow 'blank' after ISO Recorder chewed on it for about 15 minutes. But it definitely was not a successful burn.
This time it wrote the whole image as if it were normal and ejected when complete. Re-insert dvd, and it spins for a moment before ejecting and prompting me to please insert media. Yep-- another coaster. I can absolutely say that something is broken. Perhaps it's the result of a recent security update? It doesn't work now. Alright then, I'm off to find some system that can actually burn the ISO. What I noticed was that every time I put a DVD into the drive, a window would pop up asking me to perform 2 operations as default.
At the bottom of this page, there is a link for more options. I also ejected the DVD just to make sure the window did not open up again.
After those settings, I was able to burn the DVD. Hopefully this is all that is needed and that this was not by luck that it worked on the third try. At least try this before you buy a new drive. I noticed that your drive appears to be connected, or Windows detects it as connected to a Raid Port. Check your drive connection on the motherboard. Office Office Exchange Server. Not an IT pro?
